Sachi was a member of the Moonlit Black Cats guild, which Kirito joined during his time in Sword Art Online. Kirito kept his character's level a secret from the guild. This resulted in the entire guild being killed by monsters. Sachi died as a result of this event. After her death, Kirito wallowed in despair and self-loathing until he read a time-delayed message Sachi left for him on Christmas Eve. This event kept Kirito from joining another guild for the remainder of the game.
